                   BINGHAMTON GEOMETRY/TOPOLOGY SEMINAR

   Date: Thursday, March 16, 2006

Time: 2.30 pm NOTE EARLIER THAN USUAL TIME!

Place: Library North 2205 followed by coffee/tea in the Anderson

Speaker: Rafael Ramos (IMU Morelia, Mexico)

Title: A characterization for the twisted Nil group NK_1^{\alpha}(ZG)

  Abstract:

Let G be a finite group and ZG its integral group ring. Let \alpha be
a group automorphism of G. In this talk we prove that if the Nil group
NK_1^{\alpha}(ZG) does not vanish then NK_1^{\alpha} is not finitely
generated.

THIS TALK STARTS TWENTY MINUTES EARLIER THAN USUAL
