*Title: * An introduction to the rigidity program of higher rank group
actions with emphasis on topological consequences.

*Abstract:* In this talk I shall review some recent results joint with A.
Katok and A. Brown and Z. Wang on rigidity of higher rank group actions.
The aim of the program is to prove that a higher rank group action with
enough hyperbolicity is algebraic. I will try to focus on simple cases and
discuss the approach to fulfill the program.
