Speaker: *Kevin Schreve* (University of Michigan)
Title: *Thurston norm via Fox Calculus*
Abstract: Given a 3-manifold whose fundamental group admits a
presentation with two generators and one relator we will show how one can
easily determine the Thurston norm. This is based on joint work with Stefan
Friedl and Stephan Tillmann.
